A first for Belfast-based engineering firm

Belfast-based engineering firm Kirk McClure Morton has become the first consulting engineering practice in the province to receive a Continuing Professional Development Accreditation.

Awarded by the Institution of Engineers of Ireland, the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme aims to enable local companies to match international practice in every aspect of their business, with particular reference on maintaining managerial and professional expertise.

In order to fulfil the requirements of the award, Kirk McClure Morton established a training policy in tandem with a training plan which enabled all of their engineers – at every level of experience – to fulfil the Institute’s standard of formal CPD training.

The award will provide the Belfast-based practice with official ratification of its engineering service, which covers a wide range of issues relating to the built environment, including civil, structural, marine, environmental and geotechnical engineering, as well as project management. (CL)
