NI Company Bags UK Shopfitting Award

A Carrickfergus fit-out company has become the first firm to retain a prestigious UK interiors award.

McCue Fit-Out defended its 'Shopfitting Excellence' crown at the Retail Week Interiors Awards for its work on a major Urban Outfitters store in Cardiff. Last year it secured the title for the completion of the chic retailer’s Liverpool location.

The company which employs more than 100 people, fended off stiff competition from a host of well-known locations including Nike's House of Football in South Africa, Louis Vuitton’s flagship store in London and M&M's World in London.

Les McCracken, Managing Director of McCue Fit-Out, said: "We've been honoured to win at the Retail Interior Awards before and retaining the Shopfitting Excellence title shows that we are not taking that success for granted. We are forging ahead with ambitious solutions that give our clients a competitive edge in a busy marketplace."

Building on almost 60 years of experience, McCue Fit-Out is established as a specialist of choice for many leading brands in the UK and Ireland including KFC, Starbucks, Hamleys, Wagamama, DW Sports, and Peter Mark.

On awarding the Shopfitting Excellence title, the judges' said: "Retail is detail and in few places is this more the case than in the matter of taking a store design on paper and making it a physical reality."

Attended by the biggest names in the store design industry, the Retail Interiors Awards has grown to become one of the most important events in the retail calendar and, now in its 14th year, still stands tall as the ultimate recognition of merit for store design.

The Retail Interiors Awards 2011 were held on 29th September 2011 at the Hilton, Park Lane, London.
