Pensioner Killed In Bus Crash‎

An elderly woman has died after being knocked down by a bus at Wellington Road in Enniskillen.

Kitty Gault, 78, was taken to Erne Hospital following the accident which happened at about 11:30am on Wednesday, she died shortly before 2pm.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Limavady House Targeted In Arson Attack
Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an arson attack on a house in Limavady on Tuesday 27 November. The attack happened in the Coolesson Walk area at around 11.30pm. Police received a report that a wheelie bin was placed at the rear door of the property and set alight. No one was in the house at the time.

Staff Tackle Robber At Belfast Restaurant
Staff working at a fast food outlet on Belfast's Ormeau Road successfully fought off a would-be robber in the early hours of Friday 07 December. A man entered the premises at around 4am and approached the till area in an attempt to rob the business. The employees managed to wrestle him out of the building and he left the scene empty handed.

Man Hospitalised After Masked Gang Attack During Burglary
A man has been taken to hospital after he was beaten by a masked gang wielding baseball bats during an aggravated burglary in Belfast. The attack took place in the Woodvale Avenue area of Belfast on Wednesday November 28 between 9pm and 9.30pm. Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Body Found On Portstewart Promenade
Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a man's body on rocks along the North Coast on the morning of Sunday 02 December. The remains were found at around 11.15am near the lower promenade in Portstewart. The area was cordoned off and combed by forensic officers.

Man Arrested Following West Belfast Drugs Find
A 35-year-old man has been arrested after a quantity of drugs were seized from a house in west Belfast. The Terrorism Investigation Unit searched a property in the Lagmore Avenue area on Thursday evening, 29 November. The search was in connection with a police investigation into 'violent dissident republicans'.

Man Charged Over Fatal County Monaghan Crash
A 34-year-old man from County Armagh has been charged with dangerous driving following the death of a married father in County Monaghan. James Tommany, of Clay Road, Keady, faces four charges. He was arrested following an incident on Main Street, Castleblayney, on Tuesday 27 November.

Man In Hospital After Crash In Newtownards
A man and woman have been hospitalised in separate incidents on County Down roads this morning, Wednesday 18, as Storm Diana sweeps the region causing treacherous driving conditions. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service were contacted shortly before 8.20am with reports of a crash between a car and a motorcycle on the Movilla Road, Newtownards.

Ulster Hospital Installs CT Heart Scanner
The Ulster Hospital in Dundonald have installed a dedicated CT heart scanner to detect heart disease. The scanner takes a 3D image of the heart, which allows physicians to diagnose or rule out disease. Sinn Féin Health spokesperson Pat Sheehan said: "It is great to see this innovative technology being applied in the health service in the north.

Significant damage has been caused during a break-in at a hospital in Ballymena. The break-in happened at a building on the grounds of Braid Valley Hospital on the Cushendall Road between 5.30pm on Wednesday, 07 February, and 8.20am on Thursday, 08 February. Internal doors and computers were damaged.

Pensioner dies in County Down road collision
An elderly man has died following an road accident in County Down yesterday. The accident happened on the A1 dual carriageway, at Banbridge. The Citroen car, which the 74-year-old man was driving, was involved in a collision with a lorry. The accident happened shortly before 2pm. The man’s name has yet to be released by police.

Man Dies Following Farm Accident
A man has died following a farm accident in Dromore, Co Tyrone. It is understood the man was involved in vehicle maintenance when the incident happened on the Aghadulla Road. A tractor is thought to have been involved in the accident. The Health and Safety Executive has said it is investigating. No further details are available.

Man Dies In Omagh Crash
A man has died following a car crash in Omagh, Co Tyrone. The accident happened at around 12.30am on Wednesday morning on the Doogary Road. Only one vehicle, a Renault Scenic, was involved in the crash. It is understood that four other men who were in the car have been taken to hospital. One of the men is in a serious but stable condition.
