Pensioner Dies
The police are investigating the sudden death of an elderly man with an inquiry now underway following the death at Clady Road near the village of Clady in Co Londonderry. It happened on the evening of Sunday 30 October and there man remains unnamed at present. There are no further details at present.
Trading Prohibition
An Industrial Tribunal has prohibited a man - who was trading as Dealers Agency in Belfast - from operating an employment agency for eight years. Patrick Duncan's prohibition follows an application from the Department for Employment and Learning's Employment Agency Inspectorate (EAI) on the grounds of unsuitability, due to breaches of a previous prohibition order, as well as numerous counts of non-compliance, including withholding money from young actors. The Tribunal concluded that Mr Duncan had been persistently in breach of employment agency Regulations.
Halloween Party
NI Sports Minister Carál Ní Chuilín has hosted a Halloween event for local children who will participate in the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games. The event at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum was organised in partnership with National Museums NI and Art Take Part. It brings together local children who were born on the 20 December 2004, the day London won the bid to host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. "This is a wonderful opportunity for local children to play a role in the 2012 London Games. As well as participating in the opening ceremony of the 2012 Paralympic Games these children will be invited to be a part of events to celebrate the visit of the Olympic Torch to the north in June next year," she said. "Bringing the children together today for this collaboration between my Department, National Museums NI and Art Take Part introduces them to the superb TITANICa exhibition at the Folk and Transport Museum and allows them to get creative for Halloween by making their own masks."

Enrolment Numbers Increase At 21 NI Schools
Enrolment numbers at 21 primary and post-primary schools has been increased, Education Minister Paul Givan has announced. The announcement has been made following a pilot programme developed to adjust admissions and enrolment numbers in schools whose actual enrolment has historically been in excess of their approved admissions numbers.

PHA Warns Of Increasing Cases Of Tuberculosis In NI
The Public Health Agency (PHA) has issued a warning over a steady increase in cases of tuberculosis (TB) in Northern Ireland since 2020. There were 77 cases of TB notified to the PHA in 2023, an increase from 68 cases reported in 2022 and 55 cases reported in both 2021 and 2020.
