Capital One appoints Director of International Resourcing

Kevin Hogarth has been appointed Director of International Resourcing at Capital One Bank (Europe), the European arm of one of the world’s largest credit card issuers with more than 38 million customers worldwide.

Hogarth will be a key member of Capital One’s senior management team as the bank continues to expand its presence in the UK and heads into continental Europe markets. In particular he will be responsible for ensuring that Capital One continues to attract and select the best talent available in the marketplace.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Hogarth said: “This is a particularly exciting time to be joining Capital One as it continues to grow here in the UK and expand internationally. I am looking forward to applying my experience in a new arena and working with all the talented people here at Capital One.”

Hogarth joins Capital One from Ernst and Young where he was National Resourcing Director, with responsibility for the resourcing strategy for the UK, from direct entry partners through to graduate recruitment. Prior to that he was Human Resources Director for the General Insurance Division at Abbey National. (MB)

Venture fund investment in Ireland reaches IR£29m
Mary Harney, Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment, has welcomed confirmation that the venture capital market continued to show strong growth in 2000. Ensuring critical support for the development and expansion of Irish business, the Minister confirmed that investment had risen to IR£28.8 million in 2000 compared to IR£20.
