The Ulster Orchestra and the Ulster-Scots Agency got together on St Andrews Day yesterday to officially launch Ye Banks and Braes – a special Burns Night celebration off all things Ulster-Scots that will take place on Burns Night, 25 January next year at the Ulster Hall in Belfast. The unique collaboration will bring together musicians from the Ulster-Scots and Classical traditions to celebrate Scotland’s National Poet, including Eddi Reader, the leading Scottish exponent of the songs of Rabbie Burns. The Ulster-Scots Agency's Chief Executive, Ian Crozier said: "The Agency is looking forward to working in partnership with the Ulster Orchestra to hold this special Burns Night celebration on Wednesday 25 January, 2012, which commemorates the life of the bard Robert Burns who was born on this date in 1759.
