Crossbow Fired At Belfast Nightclub Staff

Police are treating a crossbow attack on door staff at a Belfast nightclub as attempted murder. It is understood that a car pulled up outside Rain nightclub in the Tomb Street area of the city shortly after 23.00 on Wednesday evening. The Crossbow was fired and a window was damaged but no one was injured in the attack.

Man Denies Portstewart Murder

A man accused of murdering a woman at a launderette in Portstewart last year has pleaded not guilty. Forty-nine-year-old Fred McClenaghan from Magherafelt is accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend, Marion Millican, while she was in her place of work back in March 2011. Mr. McClenaghan has also denied having a firearm with the intention of endangering a life.

No Evidence Of Derry Explosion

Police have said they have found no evidence that an explosion occurred in Londonderry on Tuesday evening. The PSNI logged a multitude of calls from people on both side of the River Foyle and from as far away as Eglinton and Drumahoe, on the suburbs of the city, about an explosion, but no obvious source has been found. Theories and rumours flew around the city with reports of exploding tyres, masked men and a possible attack on police.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man Arrested Over Attempted Murder Of Off-Duty Police Officer
A man has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of an off-duty police officer in Co L'Derry. A viable under-car bomb was discovered outside a house in the Ardanlee area on 22 February last year. Army bomb disposal experts attended the scene. No-one was injured.

Police Issue Appeal Over Attempted PSNI Murder
The PSNI has issued an appeal to the public regarding the attempted murder of an off-duty police officer and his family at their home in east Belfast on Sunday 30 December. Detectives from Serious Crime Branch want to speak to late night revellers who got taxis in Belfast city centre that weekend.

Arrest after Tyrone sexual assault
Detectives investigating the rape of a 16-year-old girl in County Tyrone have arrested a man. The teenager had travelled by bus to attend a nightclub in Strabane on the evening of June 16. The attack is believed to have happened some time between getting off the bus and before she reached the nightclub.

Nightclub doorman in 'critical condition' following attack
Police are appealing for information after a nightclub doorman was left in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked by up to 10 men at the weekend. The incident occurred at the Chimney Corner Hotel on the outskirts of Belfast at around 2.30am on Sunday.
