Weather Alert Warns Of Weekend Snow
Weather forecasters are predicting that Northern Ireland could experience snowfall over the weekend.
The Met Office has issued its BE AWARE warning for Northern Ireland and Scotland and said that people should be aware that ice and snow is to be expected.
"Icy stretches are expected to form on untreated surfaces, especially in places affected by showers," a spokesman said
"The showers will fall as snow above about 250 metres, but there may be temporary slush deposits to lower levels. The public should be aware of possible travel disruption.”
Wintry showers, it is believed, will mainly affect counties Antrim and Londonderry.
It comes as a period of chilly weather is forecast for the UK, as an Atlantic weather system pushes in from the west against cold weather in the east.
