Search on for INI Chief Executive

The search has begun for a Chief Executive Designate to head Invest Northern Ireland (INI), the new economic development agency which will come into being early next year.

The Department of Enterprise Trade and Investment has appointed consultants Capita RAS to assist with the recruitment process for the Chief Executive post, which will attract a remuneration package of around £150,000.

Commenting on this latest development, Sir Reg Empey, Enterprise Trade and Investment Minister, said: "The Chief Executive of Invest Northern Ireland will have an extremely high profile. The person appointed will act as an ambassador for Northern Ireland and will have the job of leading the transformation of our business and economic culture on an international stage.

"I am hopeful that the position advertised and the salary package will attract the type of candidates who are up to the challenge of this new post and who will offer a range of qualities, experience and skills from a wide spectrum of backgrounds."

The Minister also said that good progress was being made on a number of other fronts in setting up the new Agency.

The new CEO will lead a team of over 700 people in an organisation which will have the task of promoting Northern Ireland as a business base with few rivals. (MB)
