Ian Paisley Admitted To Hospital

It is being reported that the former first minister and leader of the DUP, Ian Paisley, has been admitted to hospital. Lord Bannside, who is 85, was taken ill on Sunday but the severity of his condition is not yet known.

Music Tour ‘Springs’ Back Into Action

The award-winning Belfast Music bus tour returns from its winter break this weekend. The first tour of 2012 will leave from a new departure point – the lobby of the UIster Hall – at 2pm on Saturday February 11, before taking in the sights and sounds of Belfast's musical heritage. Authored and organised by Oh Yeah on behalf of Belfast City Council, the tour is a two-hour journey through Belfast’s rich musical story and the characters who populate it, from Ruby Murray to Gary Moore, Them to Stiff Little Fingers, James Galway to David Holmes. Further tours will take place on 25 February, 10 and 24 March, 7, 14 and 21 April. Booking is essential and tickets, priced £8 for adults and £6 for concessions, can be obtained from the Belfast Welcome Centre in Donegall Place. Staff Evacuated During Ballyclare Alert

A large number of workers in Ballyclare have been evacuated from their workplace because of a security alert. The alarm was raised in the Killbride Road area on Monday afternoon, after a local business received a telephone warning. Police said staff have been moved out to a nearby church. The road has been closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Michael Hoey Secures Russian Open
Northern Ireland's Michael Hoey has won the Russian Open to claim his fifth European Tour title. The 34-year-old golfer from Belfast won the tournament by four shots, finishing 16 under. Alexandre Kaleka, from France, and England's Matthew Nixon tied in second place. Speaking to europeantour.
