Plane Lands Safely After Difficulties

A plane, which got into difficulties after talking off from Belfast International Airport, has now landed safely at the same airport.

The A320 Thomas Cook service to Tenerife circled for over an hour and a half before landing safely just before mid day.

Emergency crews were on standby at the airport and it is understood the runway had been evacuated. The exact nature of the difficulties is not yet clear.

There were 175 passengers on board the plane. There have been no reports of injuries.

Teams are now examining the passenger jet.
