Foster And Penrose Visit Titanic Belfast
Final preparations are underway as Northern Ireland gets ready for the opening of Titanic Belfast.
UK Tourism Minister John Penrose MP today joined Northern Ireland Tourism Minister Arlene Foster as they visited the Titanic Quarter to see the final preparations before the opening of Titanic Belfast on 31 March.
Minster Foster said: "It is hugely exciting to see the progress which has been made on what will be a ‘must see’ attraction for visitors to Belfast and Northern Ireland."
While Minister Penrose said: "Titanic Belfast represents all that a fantastic visitor experience should be."
Titanic Belfast will officially open on Saturday, 31st March, 2012. Later they will commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic on the night of 14th/15th April 2012. The programme for the opening period will be coordinated with other events being planned in Belfast to remember and honour this significant time in history.
The iconic building will accommodate nine galleries with interactive exhibitions, an underwater exploration theatre, recreations of the ship’s decks and cabins and a 1,000-seater banqueting suite.
