Firms Use Lie Detectors On Potential Employees
It has been reported an increasing number of company bosses are asking potential employees to take a lie detector test before hiring them. According to the Irish Examiner, Cash-in-transit companies, pharmaceutical giants and even creche owners make up the bulk of Irish businesses which are turning to pre-employment polygraph testing to ensure candidates are honest and trustworthy.
Man To Face Child Abuse Image Charges
PSNI Crest Detectives from the PSNI's child internet protection team investigated the case. A 61-year-old man has been charged with making, possession and distributing indecent images of children. He has also been charged with possession of extreme pornography. The man was apprehended by detectives from the PSNI's child internet protection team.
Republic To Ban Outdoor Alcohol Ads?
Drinks firms will no longer be able to sponsor sports events, concerts or festivals in the Irish Republic, if recommendations in a report are adopted.The National Substance Misuse Strategy is expected to recommend banning all outdoor advertising of alcohol. They are also expected to push for minimum pricing in an effort to tackle underage and problem drinking.
