£5 Coin Released To Mark 100th Anniversary Of The Titanic

The Royal Mint has released a £5 coin to mark the 100th anniversary of the Titanic's fateful voyage.

The coin was designed by Lee Robert Jones's and it depicts Thane - the female figure depicted in the Titanic Memorial in Belfast.

The coin has been issued under the authority of Channel Island Alderney. It is of legal tender but will not be issued into circulation.

It can be ordered from www.royalmint.com.

On 14th April, the Titanic struck an iceberg and it sank with the the loss of around 1,500 lives.
