NEW TARGETS ANNOUNCED FOR VALUATION AND LANDS AGENCY

NEW performance targets for the Valuation and Lands Agency, (VLA) have been announced by the Minister of Finance and Personnel, Mark Durkan, MLA.

Commenting on the move, Mr Durkan said: "The Executive is committed to delivering efficient and effective public services. By setting performance targets we can measure the quality of services delivered to the people of Northern Ireland."

Responsible for the maintenance of the Valuation List for rating purposes, the VLA provides a valuation, estate management and property data service to the Northern Ireland public sector.

The Chief Executive of the Agency, Mr Nigel Woods, welcomed the Minister’s announcement. "The Agency aims to provide a wide range of professional and advisory services ensuring open and accountable delivery to its clients. Targets have been set which focus on ongoing efficiency and quality improvement ensuring value for money," explained Mr Woods.

The Agency has set targets to achieve at least 80% client satisfaction and financially aims to maintain expenditure within approved budgetary plans. (CL)
