POLICE MAKE FURTHER EYE WITNESS APPEAL OVER ANTRIM MURDER

DETECTIVES investigating the murder of Antrim teenager Ciaran Cummings have issued a fresh appeal for information surrounding the circumstances of his death.

The young man was gunned down on Wednesday 4 July, as he waited at Greystone roundabout for a lift to work. At around 7:15am two men approached Mr Cummings on a black motorcycle before firing several gunshots at the teenager, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward, as at the time of the murder the area was busy with commuter traffic.

They would particularly like to hear from the occupants of a blue Vauxhall Corsa car that is known to have been in the area of the Greystone Road roundabout at the time of the shooting.

Police also want to hear from anyone who may have seen an old, black motorcycle in the Antrim area in the days and weeks leading up to the murder to contact them. A motorcycle recovered by police is still being examined, but is not thought to be connected to the murder.

Police are also asking local farmers in the area to check their land in case the killers dumped the bike in nearby fields. (CL)
