Ballymoney Car Breaker Fined £300 For Waste Offences
Mr Albert McMullan (38) of Garryduff Road, Ballymoney, has been fined a total of £300 plus £25 costs at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court for a breach of waste management legislation.
Officials from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency investigated a site at 29a Garryduff Road, owned by Mr. McMullan on 4 August, 2011 where a substantial quantity of controlled wastes in the form of end of life vehicles and parts of end of life vehicles was deposited. Approximately 100 end of life vehicles were noted on site. The site did not have a waste management licence or a licence to operate as an authorised treatment facility for end of life vehicles.

Waste Company Fined Over Worker's Death
A Co Antrim waste management company has been fined £60,000 after an employee died at their landfill site in Mallusk - tragically under tonnes of rubbish. BIFFA Waste Services Ltd. was fined at Belfast's Laganside Courts on Wednesday morning, after 23-year-old supervisor David Layland was killed in August 2008.
