Two Bodies Found In Burning Car
Two bodies have been discovered in a burning car in Dundalk at about 11.15pm last night. The Fire Services were called to extinguish a fire in a car at Ravensdale Park, when the bodies were found. The car was extensively damaged and Gardai in Dundalk are currently investigating the circumstances. The scene is currently preserved pending a Garda Technical examination and the office of the State Pathologists have also been notified
Over 45s More Likely To Drink Everyday
New evidence suggests that adults tend to drink more often as they get older: adults aged 45 and over were three times as likely as those aged under 45 to drink almost every day (13 per cent compared with 4 per cent), according to a report by the Office for National Statistics (ONS). Over a fifth of men (22 per cent) aged 65 and over consumed alcohol almost every day compared with just 3 per cent of men aged between 16 and 24. The same pattern was apparent among women: 12 per cent of women aged 65 and over consumed alcohol almost every day compared with just 1 per cent of women aged between 16 and 24. The survey also indicates that younger adults were more likely to have drunk heavily in the previous week than older adults: 24 per cent of men aged 16 to 24 drank more than 8 units of alcohol in a single day and 25 per cent of men aged 25 to 44, compared with 20 per cent of men aged 45 to 64, and only 7 per cent of men aged 65 and over.
Two Charged With Museum Burglary
Two men have appeared in court charged with burglary and theft from a museum in Enniskillen. James Carlin, 32, from John St, Belfast, and Carlo Holmes, 56, from Clonard Court, Belfast, appeared before Omagh Magistrates Court on Thursday. They are accused of stealing six helmet badges from the Inniskillings Regimental Museum at Enniskillen Castle on Tuesday afternoon. Mr Holmes was also charged with assaulting a police officer.

Schools to benefit from additional £21.4 million in funding
The Education Minister has announced that schools across the province will receive an extra £21.4 million on top of their delegated budgets in the next financial year. The additional funding, which is five per cent more than last year's budgetary allocation, will be spread between every single primary and post primary school in the province.
