LEDU CLIENTS ENJOY INCREASED GROWTH

THE Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment Sir Reg Empey, has said that some LEDU client companies are enjoying up to three times the growth rate of non-LEDU supported companies.

The announcement came as the Minister opened the new 18,000 sq ft premises of LEDU client company R Beveridge Engineering in Coleraine.

Speaking after the ceremony, Sir Reg said: “LEDU client companies involved in manufacturing have growth rates three times that of the Northern Ireland average. According to a study by the Northern Ireland Economic Council, these companies have outperformed their counterparts in the Republic of Ireland with the small business engineering sector key to this growth rate.

“This major investment in impressive new premises, hi tech equipment and training will allow R Beveridge Engineering to pursue a focused growth strategy hopefully leading to more employment opportunities within the local community.

“I have every confidence that, through the creation of Invest Northern Ireland, the new single economic development agency, the nature and type of support needed to further develop economic prosperity will be greatly enhanced.”

In just over three years in business, R Beveridge Engineering has serviced customers throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Scotland and quadrupled its workforce to 28 full time staff.

The company specialises in the manufacture of virtually any product for the steel industry, as well as machine installation and general engineering services to the production industry.
