THIEFBEATERS are set to open a new regional office in Magherafelt.

Run by John Thompson, Thiefbeaters Northern Ireland has already experienced a large surge in interest for its Permanent Security Marking & Database Registration System.

The system, which can be applied to anything from hand tools to excavators, makes it impossible for thieves to conceal the legal ownership of property and provides rapid recovery assistance in the event of theft.

Customers such as Laird Grass Machinery and Johnson Gilpin have already started using the system, taking immediate advantage of its theft prevention benefits.

The system works by applying unique coded numbers, electronic tags and microdots to the structure and fabric of an item, in numerous overt and hidden locations. Full details regarding the location of all security markings are then recorded on a national database, along with six digital photographs of the marked property.

The owner of the property also receives a Registration Document, which can be used in the event of theft to give police preliminary details about the item, its security status and the emergency helpline.

Crime Prevention Officers throughout Northern Ireland have already been briefed on using the system. Police can use the emergency helpline to obtain a “stolen report” from the Thiefbeaters rapid response database, giving them full details of the property concerned and the location of all security markings.

On detaining a suspicious vehicle or piece of plant, police can then scan the property and locate the unique code to establish legal ownership. Even the location of erased marks is easily detectable.

In addition to the comprehensiveness of the system, customers can now also benefit from considerable insurance discounts.
