Calls For Kennedy To Intervene On Upper Springfield Road Works

SDLP Lower Falls Cllr Colin Keenan has called on the Department of Regional Development to deploy extra resources to expedite the completion of road works in the Upper Springfield Road area of the city.

Cllr Keenan said: "These roads works are taking place on a key route in Belfast and should be being carried out in an efficient manner. However the lacklustre approach which has been adopted by those charged with completing this project has caused serious frustration to the many motorists who have been held up on this road for a lengthy period of time.

Mr Keenan is calling on DRD Danny Kennedy to intervene and deploy whatever resources are required to ensure that the work is completed as soon as possible and disruption to motorists is kept to a minimum.
