CLIFTONVILLE KNOCKED OUT OF INTERTOTO CUP
Cliftonville have been knocked out of this year’s Intertoto Cup after being beaten 3-1 after extra-time in the second leg of their European tie against Moldovian opponents Tilagul Taraspol.
After taking the lead in the 11th minute through Tommy McCallion, the Irish League part-timers were forced onto the back foot before being reduced to ten men after Pat Wall was sent off in the 71st minute.
With the game going into extra time their luck finally ran out when Mickey Collins was sent off for allegedly stamping on an opposing players head.
After that it was all Tilagul, with the equaliser coming on 100 minutes through Serghei Covalcivic. Things got worse for the Reds three minutes later when Juri Priganiuc unleashed an unstoppable free kick from 25 yards out to make the score 2-1. The visitors then wrapped things up when Ivanhenco tucked away a left wing corner with a glancing header to seal the reds fate. (MB)

NI Defeated By Austria In Last Minute Goal
Northern Ireland suffered a defeat at the hands of Austria in Belfast on Sunday 18 November, when the visitors grabbed the winning goal in the last minute. A Valentino Larozo goal in the last kick of the game won the Nations League clash for the away side at Windsor Park.

Two-Minute Silence Marks Armistice Day
A two-minute silence has been observed across the UK to mark Armistice Day and commemorate the end of the first world war on this day in 1918. The occasion was marked across NI at 11am to remember servicemen and women who died in battle. Wreath-laying ceremonies have also taken place at war memorials across the province.

Holiday-makers urged to check facts on last minute sun deals
People booking last minute package holidays have been warned to check the facts before they pay. The warning follows a survey by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment’s Trading Standards Service (TSS) that found 10% of package holidays advertised in travel agents’ shop windows are misleading.
