Ratepayers Call For Council To Get Tough On Dog Owners
A new poll of Belfast ratepayers has revealed they want the city council to get tough on dog owners who don`t clean up after their pet.
The research, conducted by MORI, was carried out on behalf of Belfast City Council and revealed that members of the public believe that fining irresponsible dog owners is the only way of cleaning up our streets.
Belfast City Council has launched the next phase of its campaign to remind dog owners 'his business is your business', and is asking members of the public to help them target repeat offenders.
Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has announced that Retail Systems Technology Ltd (RST) in Londonderry has won business at Titanic Belfast.
Foster Announces Titanic Deal for Londonderry Tech Business
The Minister congratulated the Campsie company on supplying its unique iTouch Point of Sale software and hardware system, developed with assistance from Invest Northern Ireland, to the iconic Titanic Belfast building.
Titanic Belfast is now using RST systems for all its customer sales operations throughout the recently opened building in Titanic Quarter.
The extensive system supplied by RST includes all retail, hospitality and ticket sales terminals complete with scanners and fully integrated chip and pin payment facilities. In all RST provided 19 point of sale terminals, five ticketing terminals and six self service kiosks to the gift shop, galley, bistro, Olympic and Britannic Suites and Bridge Bar at the Titanic visitor attraction.
Transparency Needed Over Malone Square Transaction
SDLP Balmoral Councillor Claire Hanna has said that the evidence given at Stormont’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) regarding the sales of a former Army base on the Malone Road, which was subsequently developed as the up-market Malone Square apartment development, is deeply disturbing and says a lot about the incompetence, and perhaps worse, of some in public service.
The prime two and a half acre site was sold in 2003 for £3.8 million without planning permission, £1million below its estimated market value to a mystery buyer, who then resold it on the same day.
