Teen Convicted Of Raping Five-Year-Old

A teenager has been convicted of raping a five-year-old boy.

The 14-year-old boy was convicted of raping the child and one count of sexually assaulting him, at Belfast Crown Court today.

Neither can be identified for legal reasons.

During the week long hearing, the victim testified via videolink.

The 14-year-old has been released on bail.

The recorder of Belfast, Judge Tom Burgess listed the case for mention on Friday 25th May to ascertain the best way forward.

New Youth Justice Agency Headquarters Officially Open
The new Youth Justice Agency (YJA) headquarters was officially opened today. During a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Justice Minister Naomi Long opened the new facilities, which are based at Charles House, Donegall Street, Belfast.

Three Men Charged In Connection With South Belfast Assault
Three men have been charged in connection with an assault in the Farnham Street area of south Belfast on Tuesday, 27 August. A 30-year-old man was charged with common assault, criminal damage and disorderly behaviour. A 25-year-old man was charged with criminal damage and disorderly behaviour.
