Belfast Company Expands To Meet Growing Export Demand

Belfast-based provider of environmental health services Healthy Buildings Ireland Ltd (HBI) is investing over £160,000 with support from Invest Northern Ireland to capitalise on the growing demand for its services across Great Britain.

The expansion programme will create around 15 new jobs over the next 18 months.

Established in 2001, HBI provides range of services assisting property managers with compliance risk management in the construction and built environments. In February last year, the company created a new division called HBE Risk Management based in Edinburgh.

Invest NI has offered HBI almost £30,000 to help the company implement a bespoke marketing strategy to develop business opportunities in Scotland and the North of England.

Oonagh Hinds, Manager of Invest NI’s Eastern Regional Office, said: "HBI is an excellent example of an R&D led services business which has experienced significant growth and almost doubled its staff within the last six years. This investment will see it target further growth in Great Britain where it projects sales of almost half a million pounds by 2013.

"Our support is helping the company to raise its profile and to build a database of contacts in its target markets."
