Arsonists Take Advantage Of Dry Weather
Firefighters have confirmed that the three acre blaze on Cave Hill was started deliberately.
The fire started at about 9.30pm on Monday and four fire engines remained onsite until 11pm when they had to withdraw due to the difficulty of working on the terrain at night.
They returned this morning after monitoring the fire overnight.
Kevin O’Neill of the Fire and Rescue Service said: "Our crews have been informed that there were youths on the mountain who were seen lighting the fire."
A ten-acre fire on Friday night and Saturday in the Mourne Mountains was also believed to be the work of arsonists.
Gas Leak In Newtownards
Homes and business have been evacuated in County Down following a gas leak.
Part of John Street, Newtownards, has been closed off.
Firefighters as well as gas company workers are at the scene.
Stabbing Death In Lisburn
A woman was stabbed to death in Lisburn last night in what appears to have been a domestic assault.
Residents in the Warren Grove area of the city said the man who stabbed her then turned the knife on himself.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack, which happened at about 6.40pm.
Neighbours said the victim, who was named locally as Ksenija Vorosilina, ran out of a house with stab wounds in her arm, back and chest, and the man then stabbed himself.
It is understood Ms Varosilina, a 28-year-old dressmaker, was a Latvian national who had lived in Northern Ireland for six years.
She died later in hospital.
Police would like to hear from anyone with information, on 0800 600 8000, or speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

PSNI Investigates Arson Attack In L'Derry
The PSNI have launched an investigation into an arson attack in L'Derry on Monday, 11 March. At around 11.30pm last night, it was reported to police that two vehicles were on fire in the Grainan Drive area. Police and NIFRS attended the scene. Both vehicles sustained significant damage. Two other vehicles were also damaged as a result of the fire.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Two men die in separate stabbing incidents
Two people have been killed in separate stabbing incidents in Northern Ireland over the weekend. Hugh McKibben, 51, of Main Street in Carrowdore died in a stabbing incident at a house on Inisharoan Court about midnight on Sunday May 5. Four people were arrested following his murder but three have since been released on police bail.
