Watermains Upgrade Work on Cliftonville Road, Belfast
Work will start in two weeks on a new watermain on the Cliftonville Road, restricting traffic flow.
The new watermain, which NI Water said would improve drinking water quality and the reliability of the water supply in the area, will be laid between the junction at the Antrim
Road and the junction at the Oldpark Road.
It will be on the lane leading out of town and diversions will be in place via Cavehill Road and Westland Road, to keep contractors safe.
Vehicles turning on to the Cliftonville Road from side streets will be restricted to turning left towards town.
On-street parking will be restricted but the road will still be open to pedestrians.
NI Water said the work should be finished by early September.
A spokesman for the company said: "We would like to thank the residents and the traveling public in advance for their co-operation and patience during this essential improvement work. We would like to assure customers that every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum. All diversions will be clearly signposted."
During the works period, some Translink services will be subject to diversions. For more information call 02890 666630.
NI Water’s customer relations team can be contacted via Waterline on 08457 440088. Customers with any questions on the scheme should quote "Farrans Utilities Watermains Rehabilitation Programme – Cliftonville Road."
