Ancestry.com Opens International Headquarters In Ireland
Ancestry.com, the world's largest family history resource has signed a lease on property at Sir John Rogerson's Quay, Dublin from where it will run its International operations. The company is set to move into the new premises in September, having been in Dublin in temporary offices since autumn 2011.
The new office is part of Ancestry's long-term growth strategy and represents an exciting new investment by the company in its International division which covers the organisation’s operations outside of the USA.
Employee numbers in the Dublin office currently total 15 but are expected to grow to more than 50 within two years. That number will include staff working within management and finance functions as well as website developers and member service agents.
Olivier van Calster, Ancestry.com's VP & General Manager, International commented: "We are delighted to be opening our new offices at Sir John Rogerson's Quay and are looking forward to growing our international business from Dublin. Ireland is the perfect location for our International headquarters and was chosen for a number of reasons, not least because of the great availability of talented people, but also because it is a country that has a long history of emigration and plays a significant role in the family history of people across the globe."
Welcoming the announcement, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, said: "Ancestry.com is a very welcome addition to Ireland’s growing cluster of online companies. Through continued implementation of the Action Plan for Jobs the Government is determined to build on this and create the jobs we need."

Aviation ground handling services firm, Swissport, is to create 100 new jobs at Belfast International Airport to deal with planned airline growth. The company has launched a major recruitment drive which will see its workforce at Belfast International increase to 350 approximately.

Tesco To Recruit 200 New Staff
Tesco has announced that it is recruiting over 200 new staff for its new store which will open in Newry on 6 June 2013. The announcement was welcomed today by Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry as recruitment opened for the new store. The Minister described the jobs boost as good news for jobseekers in the Newry area.

Belfast International Airport Expansion To Create New Jobs
Up to 70 new jobs are to be created at Belfast International Airport as part of a £2.5 million expansion announced by SSP, an operator of food and beverage outlets. It is understood that most of the new, full and part-time jobs, will be at existing airside outlets.

130 New Jobs Created At Antrim Manufacturing Plant
Over 100 new jobs are to be created in Antrim by Ballymena-based bus company Wrightbus. The 130 jobs come alongside a total investment in the company of £14m, more than £10m of which the company say will be used for research and development.
