Boy Falls From Three Storey House

A boy has fallen three storeys from a house in Belfast this morning.

The incident happened at Ainsworth Avenue at around 09.15.

His condition has been described as critical and he is currently in the Royal Victoria Hospital.

No further details have been released.

Eligible Parties Urged To Take Advantage Of The Ulster Scots Broadcast Fund

Ulster Unionist Party Culture spokesperson, Robin Swann MLA has urged interested parties eligible for the Ulster Scots Broadcast Fund to ensure they apply for funding before the 21st of September deadline.

The North Antrim MLA said: "The Ulster Scots Broadcast Fund has the potential to help get quality Ulster Scots projects aired in Northern Ireland. But this is only possible if production companies take advantage of the fund, which is why I would encourage any interested parties to ensure that they apply to the fund before the September 21st deadline."The Ulster Unionist Party will continue to promote the Ulster Scots culture in areas such as the media and given that BBCNI has given a call for Ulster Scots projects, I hope that the Broadcast Fund will help to promote this culture to a mainstream audience."

New Pilot Scheme Announced To Test Filming NI Appeal Court Judgements
A new pilot scheme to film the deliver of judgments in the Court of Appeal in Northern Ireland, has been announced by the Lady Chief Justice, Dame Siobhan Keegan. It is understood that during the pilot scheme, none of the judgements will be broadcast, but the filming used to test the process and inform future decisions.

A blue plaque has been unveiled in honour of the achievements of Ulster Covenant author, Thomas Sinclair. The First Minister Arlene Foster, in association with the Ulster Scots Agency, unveiled the plaque as part of a series of projects being launched at an event at Sinclair Seaman's Church.

Ulster-Scots Language Week Celebrated At City Hall
Belfast City Council have hosted a special event at City Hall to mark Ulster-Scots Language Week featuring Ulster-Scots music, poetry and storytelling. The event was organised by community development organisation, Small Steps, with support from the Ulster-Scots Agency and in partnership with Belfast City Council.

The University of Ulster is currently developing the province’s first dedicated Ulster-Scots Literary Encyclopaedia - the first of its kind to draw together and make accessible information on Ulster-Scots writers for schools, academics and the general public.

Ulster-Scots Get Donegal Recognition
A new tourism centre which celebrates the history of Scots settlers in Ulster has opened in Co Donegal. The Ulster-Scots Heritage Centre (pictured) is at Monreagh in the Laggan district, an area of Donegal which itself is called after its Scottish highland namesake, the Laggan area beside Loch Lochy, close to Loch Ness.
