Three Arrested Following Oil Laundering Plant Find

Three men have been arrested after an oil laundering plant was discovered in Co Louth.

The men, two from Northern Ireland and one from Co Louth, have been taken to Dundalk Garda station.

Officers from the Irish Revenue's customs service and gardai closed down the site at Tatebane, Hackballscross, Dundalk, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Approximately 30,000 litres of illicit fuel, over 50 bags of bleaching earth, one tanker and three lorries were seized from the site.

Officers also recovered 36 tonnes of toxic waste and spirits on which Irish duty had not been paid.

Man Wanted In Lithuania Arrested In Magherafelt
The PSNI have arrested a 23-year-old man in Magherafelt wanted in Lithuania to face charges of human trafficking. The man was arrested by officers from the Police Service's local policing team in Magherafelt, with assistance from the International Policing Unit. He is expected appear before extradition court in Belfast later today.

15-Year-Old Arrested Following Stabbing In Lisburn
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 14-year-old in the Knockmore Road area of Lisburn last night, Monday 25th March. Police have said that at approximately 7.40pm on Monday 25 March, a 14-year-old boy had been approached by a group of teenagers, before being stabbed in the lower back.

Men Sentenced For Ballymena Drug And Money Laundering Operation
Three men were sentenced for offences linked to a drugs and money laundering operation in the Ballymena area yesterday, 31 January. At Antrim Crown Court, Troy Carley (27), Neil Lowry (30) and Marc Mitchell (32) were sentenced for a number of offences.

Homes Evacuated In Co Tyrone And Co Down
Homes have been evacuated in two separate security alerts in County Tyrone and County Down today, 19 January. In the first security alert, a suspicious object was found at at a house on the Gortgonis Road in Coalisland. A number of nearby houses have been evacuated and the public asked to avoid the area at this time.
