Two Trustees To Be Appointed To W5 Board
Culture Minister Carál Ní Chuilín, is currently seeking to appoint two Trustees to the Whowhatwherewhenwhy (W5) Board with effect from 1st February 2013.
W5 is a leading visitor attraction, educational centre and corporate facility. It engages visitors through educational and enjoyable exhibits and events, which are all delivered with excellent customer service.
Commenting on the importance of these positions the Minister said: "W5 as the North's premier science centre makes a valuable contribution to the achievement the Executive’s Programme for Government objectives by attracting tourists, promoting science, technology, engineering and mathematics and contributing to the good relations, health and wellbeing agenda.
"The exhibitions, demonstrations and programmes provided by W5 deliver creative and inspirational learning experiences. A visit to W5 helps teachers to bring learning alive and students and lifelong learners to see science in action.
"W5 is an important part of our tourism offering at the Titanic Quarter delivering fun and educational days out for visitors of all ages. Many of the exhibits reflect the North's industrial and maritime heritage which adds an interesting dimension to the other attractions located nearby."
The Minister is encouraging women, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities to apply. She said: "I would encourage members of ethnic minorities, people with a disability and women to apply for these positions so that we have a Board which is representative of our diverse society."
