Man suffers minor injuries in house fire
A 59-year-old man has been rescued from his bedroom after a fire broke out in his Ballymoney home.
The alarm was raised shortly after 2.30am and police, fire and ambulance services were all called to attend the scene.
The man was taken to a local hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation and burns to his head. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
There was extensive damage caused to the interior of the dwelling. However, no other property was affected.
Elsewhere, a chip shop has been badly damaged in a fire in Londonderry.
It is believed that the fire, which also destroyed two cars at Glendermott Road in the Waterside on Tuesday, may have started beside a nearby oil tank.

Businesses Damaged By Blaze In Portstewart
An investigation has launched after a number of businesses were damaged by a blaze in The Diamond in Portstewart. The alarm was raised at 5am on Monday, however fire crews were called back at around 9.30am. A chip shop, coffee shop and hairdressers were damaged as a result. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

22-Year-Old Man Jailed For Rape At Laganside Crown Court
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to six years for rape at Laganside Crown Court. Ahmad Alsbaihi was sentenced to six years. He will serve three years in custody and three years on licence. He will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for 10 years.
