Dualway Announces 40 New Jobs

Fine Gael Dublin Mid West Deputy, Derek Keating, has said the news by the West Dublin-based transport and tourism company, Dualway, that it is set to create 40 new jobs this year is an endorsement of the excellent service the company is delivering. Deputy Keating went on to say that this expansion is a sign of the strength of Irish businesses and their capacity to grow even in difficult circumstances.

Mr Keating said: "I have long been a proponent of the excellent work being carried out by the Dualway Group. The service it delivers is second to none and that is being reflected in the announcement.

"When this Government came to power our economy was on the floor and we were witnessing daily reports of businesses of all sizes shutting up shop and calling it a day. In the three years before this Government was elected to office more than 250,000 jobs were lost in the private sector.

"We now have a situation whereby the economy has returned to growth, with an increase in GDP being reported last year for the first time since 2007 and more than 12,000 jobs created in the private sector. The Government is working assiduously to turn the economy around, focussing on potential growth areas such as tourism, IT and the pharma sector to grow jobs so that our people can get back to work.

"Dualway's planned expansion this year follows on from a recruitment drive the Group carried out a short while ago. The company is testament to the fact that if you deliver a solid service, people will respond."
