Police Warn Of Ad Scam

Police in Londonderry have warned of a scam, which claims to sell advertisements for a PSNI or emergency services' magazine.

It follows a recent report that a man claiming to be from the PSNI's Crime Prevention Unit called a business and asked for money for an advertisement.

A similar incident also occurred recently in the Newry area.

The police have appealed for anyone who receives such a call to report it immediately.

Good Friday Agreement Proposal Sold At Auction

A copy of the original Good Friday Agreement proposal, which was signed by the participants, has sold at auction in Dublin for 9000 euros.

The proposal belonged to an unnamed member of the Northern Ireland Women's Coalition who was 16 at the time.

It has been signed by Tony Blair, John Hume, Gerry Adams, Martin McGuinness, Marjorie "Mo" Mowlam and Bertie Ahern.

The Good Friday Agreement was signed in Belfast on 10 April 1998.

Liam Neeson Awarded Freedom Of The Borough

Liam Neeson will receive the Freedom of the Borough from Ballymena Borough Council in a ceremony later.

The Oscar-nominated actor is best known for his starring roles in the Star Wars film The Phantom Menace, Schindler's List and Michael Collins.

The Freedom of the Borough is the highest accolade the council can award a citizen.

Mr Neeson and his mother Katherine will attend the ceremony at the town hall.

Drugs, Paraphernalia And Cash Seized In L'Derry Searches
Suspected Class B drugs with an estimated street value of £10,000 has been seized during a search operation in the Waterside are of L'Derry on Monday, 08 April. District Support Team (DST) officers made the seizures, assisted by Tactical Support Group colleagues, during two searches at addresses yesterday morning.

Appeal Following Serious Assault And Robbery In Antrim
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.

Man Arrested In Connection With 1992 Police Officer Murder
A 59-year-old man has been arrested at Birmingham Airport in connection with a fatal mortar attack in Newry in 1992. The man was arrested on Wednesday, 21 February by detectives from PSNI's Legacy Investigation Branch, investigating the murder of Constable Colleen McMurray and the attempted murder of her colleague in 1992.

Former City Centre Police Station To Become New 74-Bedroom Hotel
A former police station in Belfast city centre is to be redeveloped for a new 74-bedroom hotel. Belfast City Council's Planning Committee approved the development on Queen Street, along with granting Listed Building Consent to bring the building into use again.
