Police Appeal Over Missing Man

Police in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim are investigating the whereabouts of 38-year-old Paul Branagh, who is believed to be in the Dublin area.

Mr Branagh is described as being 6’3”, broad build, wearing black jeans and black shoes.

He was last seen wearing a navy t-shirt with 'IDOL' written across the front and a navy hooded sweatshirt with 'Lisa Hannigan' on the front.     

The PSNI has also said Mr Branagh is on prescribed medication which he needs to take regularly.

It is believed that Paul is not in possession of his medication

Man Arrested Over Dissident Activity

A man is being held following his arrest by detectives investigating dissident republican activity.

The 45-year-old suspect was detained in Lurgan, County Armagh.

He has been taken to Antrim police station for questioning.

Car Crash Victim Named

A woman who was killed in a car accident in County Antrim on Monday has been named as 78-year-old Margaret Evelyn Gray from the Ballycastle area.

The crash involved two vehicles and happened at Moyarget Road in Mosside, near Ballymoney, at 14:00.

Two other people involved in the accident were taken to Causeway Hospital in Coleraine.

Police want anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them on 0845 600 8000.

Man Convicted Of Fishing Offences

A man has been convicted at Ballymena Court of fishing by unlicensed and unfair means.

Ryan McClelland from Beechgrove, Ballymena was fined £75 and told to pay court costs of £19.

Man questioned about 1988 murder
A man has been arrested in connection with police inquiries into a murder in 1988. The body of Lily Smyth, 66, was found in her flat at Moveen House in Dunmurry on October 9, 1988. The pensioner had been strangled. A police spokesperson said that a 43-year-old man had been arrested and is being questioned at Antrim Police Station.

Man Dies In Co L'Derry House Fire
A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of George Gilmore
A 39-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. The suspect was detained in Co Antrim on Wednesday, 12 April, and is being questioned at Musgrave police station.
