Playground Vandalised With Shards Of Glass

A children's playground in Antrim has been vandalised by having shards of glass embedded into the soft play area.

Council officials reported the incident, which occurred at Muckamore community centre on Friday.

It is thought the shards of glass were embedded in the soft play area intentionally.

No children accessed the park when the glass was there.

Suspected Pipe Bomb In Newry

The PSNI is investigating a suspected pipe bomb attack in Newry at the weekend.

The news follows an explosion in an alleyway in the Chequer Court area on Sunday afternoon.

Police attended the scene after it was reported at 17:30.

The remains of a device were taken away for forensic examination.

Men Arrested Over Attack

Three men have been arrested following the attack of a man in Ballygowan, County Down.

The men, aged 53, 30 and 28, are accused of attacking the man in the Bog Road area just before 22:00 while he was in his car.

It is reported that the driver of a Mini was forced off the road by four men in a red Audi.

One of the men is then reported to have assaulted the driver of the Mini.

Illegal Fuel Plants Raided

Police have carried out three raids on illegal fuel plants over the past few days.

The plants in Crossmaglen, Co Armagh, and Coalisland and Dungannon, Co Tyrone, supposedly could have produced 15m litres of fuel and evaded £10m in unpaid duty.

Pumps, tanks and equipment were removed from each site. Investigations are continuing.

Two Men Attacked With Baseball Bats In Co Antrim
Two 18-year-old men have been attacked with baseball bats in Whitehead, Co Antrim. The victims were closing premises in the Balmoral Avenue area at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, 04 October when three men assaulted them. Both men were treated in hospital for their injuries. One has been discharged, and the other remains in hospital.

Six Arrested In Dissident Investigation
Six people have been arrested by detectives investigating dissident republican activity. The arrests were made on Tuesday in the Dunmurry and west Belfast area following a number of searches. Police said five men, aged between 31 and 58, and a 32-year-old woman had been arrested.

Two Men Arrested Over Bomb Attack On Police Released
Two men arrested in connection with a bomb attack on police in Strabane, Co Tyrone, have been released. A device exploded in the Townsend street area on Tuesday, 21 March, and the officers were "extremely lucky to escape injury", according to the PSNI. The men, aged 20 and 31, were released unconditionally. The investigation is ongoing.

Petrol Bomb Thrown At Police Vehicle In Co Antrim
Two masked men threw a petrol bomb at a police vehicle in Co Antrim. The attack happened in the Castlemara Drive area in Carrickfergus at around 2.20am on Sunday, 29 May. The bomb hit the vehicle, however no damage was caused. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Three Men Reported To PPS Over Stormont Inquiry
Three men have been reported to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS) in relation to allegations over witness coaching at Stormont's NAMA inquiry. It is understood Daithi McKay and loyalist blogger Jamie Bryson were two of the three men reported to the PPS.
