Elderly Woman Distracted And Robbed
A 91-year-old woman has been robbed while distracted in south Belfast.
A woman came to the victim's house in the Newton Park area of Four Winds at about 15:00 yesterday afternoon.
The woman said she had lost her cat.
Later a neighbour rang the 91-year-old to say she had seen someone climbing over her fence.
The woman discovered an upstairs bedroom had been broken into and a sum of money stolen from a purse.
Underground Cannabis Factory Discovered
A large underground cannabis factory has been discovered by police in Newcastle, County Down.
The operation involved three purpose-built rooms filled with about 600 plants.
It is thought the cannabis had a street value of £350,000.
Five men were arrested in the operation.
£10k Metal Stolen From Dunmurry Property
About £10,000 of metal and other items have been stolen from a house in Dunmurry.
The vacant property had its heating system removed, along with lead from the roof and oil from the tank.
An external oil pump was also taken from the property, on the Groganstown Road.
The PSNI wants to speak to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity at the property between 28 June and 4 July or anyone with any other information.
Men Convicted Of Fisheries Offences
Three men have been convicted of of fisheries offences at Dungannon Magistrates' Court
Dainius Tuska from Woodvale Park, Dungannon Jonas Bajorinas from Eastvale Avenue, Dungannon and Viktoras Januskevicius from Clonmore Villas, Dungannon were convicted of fishing by unfair means, among other offences.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

NI Property Prices Increase
Residential property prices in Northern Ireland increased for first time since 2007, according to a new report. The Northern Ireland Residential Property Price Index report for the second quarter of 2013 showed that between quarter one and quarter two, residential property prices increased by 2%.

Lisney named as leading property agency in NI
Belfast consultancy Lisney has been named as the leading commercial property agency in Northern Ireland by the online version of leading property journal Estates Gazette. Lisney came out on top in Northern Ireland in the EGi Deals competition, which seeks to find the most active commercial property agents in the UK.

False Imprisonment Case Goes To Appeal
There's an unusual development in legal affairs this week with news that the Criminal Cases Review Commission has referred two convictions to the Northern Ireland Court of Appeal. It is thought both James Martin and Veronica Ryan (formerly known as Veronica Martin) were actively 'invited' to seek the appeal.

Woman Convicted Of Animal Welfare Offences
A Belfast woman has been banned from keeping animals for ten years after she was convicted of causing unnecessary suffering to a pony. Phyllis Burns of Rosapena Walk was handed a five month custodial sentence, suspended for two years, at Lisburn Magistrates Court.
