Plans Submitted For £20m Development
Planning proposals have been submitted for a £20m commercial development in Belfast.
It will be the largest development in the city since the recession.
The plans are for the Titanic Quarter, with two tower blocks suggested. These would be marketed as offices to companies as a technology hub to support the financial services industry.
If approved, the buildings – which would be located on the former shipyard site beside Belfast's Metropolitan College campus – could open in the autumn of 2015 and accommodate up to 2,000 workers.
David Gavaghan, chief executive of the Titanic Quarter, who submitted the plans, said: "As we see the first tangible signs that we are moving out of one of the longest economic recessions in the last century, it is time to ensure that Belfast can continue to offer potential investors flexible, modern, high-end business accommodation."
