Burnside Eurocyl Creates 25 New Jobs
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, has announced the creation of 25 new jobs and a €3.5m expansion plan at Carlow company Burnside Eurocyl Ltd.
The investment is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland. A number of the new jobs have been filled and the remainder will be filled over the next 18 months, bringing total employment at Burnside to 170.
Burnside Eurocyl is a member of the Burnside group and is a family owned company. It is one of Europe's largest hydraulic cylinder manufacturers and supplies original equipment manufacturers on a Just-in-Time basis. Clients include household names like Volvo and JCB, as well as industry stalwarts Komatsu, Doosan Bobcat and the Wirtgen Group among others. The €3.5m investment will allow Burnside Eurocyl to expand its manufacturing facilities, upgrade R&D facilities, and train employees in Lean manufacturing techniques.
Speaking during a visit to Burnside Eurocyl, Minister Bruton said: "At the centre of the Government's plans for jobs and growth is creating a powerful engine of Irish exporting businesses. Throughout the country we have strong, family-owned manufacturing and engineering companies like Burnside, creating products and services to the highest standards for international markets. Companies like these can be the engine of Irish recovery, and through the Action Plan for Jobs we have put in place a range of measures to provide better supports for them, such as the Development Capital Scheme and the Foreign Earnings Deduction.
"I am delighted to be here for this very welcome announcement by Burnside Eurocyl that it is creating 25 jobs, I congratulate them on their achievement and wish them every success for the future."
