Minister Welcomes Cirdan Acquisition In The US

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has welcomed the acquisition by Cirdan Ultra in Lisburn of the IP and assets of the Centricity Laboratory Division of GE Healthcare IT in collaboration with Kainos Software Limited in Belfast.

The Minister said: "This is an important strategic acquisition by Cirdan that will strengthen its global business in highly innovative medical imaging technology.

"Cirdan is developing an impressive reputation as an international technology leader and will benefit enormously for the access that this acquisition will provide to Centricity products and markets across North America, Asia Pacific and the UK.

"The agreement also strengthens Northern Ireland’s standing in a key technology for life sciences and will benefit Kainos in Belfast, one of our most successful software businesses. Both Cirdan and Kainos are ambitious and progressive companies with strong business opportunities in international markets.

"Cirdan's acquisition of the GE Healthcare subsidiary is an immensely encouraging start to a week in which we will be showcasing leading edge Northern Ireland technology and the advantages that we offer to international companies during a major International Investment Conference in Belfast."
