Man Shot In L'Derry

A man has been shot dead at a flat in L'Derry City.

Emergency crews were called to the scene in Shipquay Street at about 11:00 on Thursday morning.

The circumstances surrounding the incident have not yet been confirmed.

SDLP MLA for Foyle Pat Ramsey said: "This is an appalling and disgraceful incident. I was in the vicinity this morning and heard the shots that have resulted in the tragic loss of life. There is a deep sense of shock in Derry city centre today.

"Once again there are those in our community who are intent on destroying the unity of purpose that can only benefit everyone, especially our young people.

"My condolences and sympathies are with the family of the victim at this time. I would urge anyone with any information about this incident to contact the PSNI."

Police Seeking Man After Incident At Bar In Belfast City Centre
An investigation has been launched following an incident at a bar in Belfast City Centre late on Sunday night during which a man had part of his ear bitten off. According to police, a man, aged in his 30s, was involved in a fight on the dance floor of a bar on Amelia Street at about 11:50pm on Sunday, 20 August.

Man Killed In Farming Incident
A man has died in a farming accident in Co Fermanagh. The victim, 71, is thought to have been attacked by cattle on his farm near Ballinamallard. The incident happened over the weekend. An investigation is now being carried out by the Health and Safety Executive.
