Suspicious Obkect Found In East Belfast
Army bomb experts have been called to investigate a suspicious object in Rosebery Gardens in east Belfast.
The find follows an alert earlier today after another suspicious object was found in North Queen Street. The road has now reopened and the alert ended.
Man Attacked In South Belfast
A man has been attacked in the 'holylands' area of south Belfast and been left with what is reported to be a broken nose.
The 26-year-old was assaulted by a gang of men in the Rugby Road area.
The attack happened late Monday afternoon.
Police have only just released the details.
Tyrone Haulage Firm Fined
A haulage firm based in Dungannon, County Tyrone, was fined a total of £900 at Enniskillen Magistrate’s Court today on three counts of overloading.
Alistair Hayes, who trades as Hayes Fuels, 146 Pomeroy Road, Dungannon, was fined £300 for each of three counts of overloading.
He was also ordered to pay court costs of £16 and an offenders levy of £15.
Mr Hayes's driver Anthony Henry McKee, 39, of Wellbrooks Manor, Dungannon, was fined £100 for each of three counts of overloading and £100 for a drivers hours offence for infringing his daily rest restrictions.
Mr McKee was also ordered to pay court costs of £16 and an offenders levy of £15.
The incident happened on 23 November last year when DVA Enforcement Officers stopped an articulated goods vehicle on the A4 in the vicinity of Enniskillen.
The vehicle was found to be overloaded on several of its axles and by 10.54% (4640kgs) on its gross train weight.
A further check of the drivers tachograph records identified that on the 15 November 2012 the driver Anthony Henry McKee was in breach of the required minimum daily rest from driving.
Tyrone Waste Company Has License Revoked
The Department of the Environment has revoked the waste management licence for Straduff Recycling Limited in Co Tyrone.
The action is part of an investigation into a number of waste businesses and follows the removal of an exemption from waste management licensing for Enniskillen Scrap Metal Ltd of Killyvilly Road, Co Fermanagh earlier this year.
Straduff Recycling Ltd will have its Waste Management Licence revoked from 17:00 on 8 October 2013.
