Man Charged Over PSNI Drugs Find

Detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch have charged a 36-year-old male with four counts of possessing a class A controlled drug and intent to supply, after police stopped and searched a car in the Hillsborough Road area of Lisburn on Saturday afternoon.

The man has also be charged with two counts of possession of a class B controlled drug, two counts of possessing a class B controlled drug with intent to supply and importing a controlled drug.

The charges are in connection with the discovery of a large quantity of suspected herbal cannabis and a quantity of suspected cocaine after police stopped a car in the Hillsborough Road area of Lisburn.

A further quantity of suspected herbal cannabis and suspected cocaine were also recovered during a follow up search of a property in the Mullberry Park area of Dunmurry, County Antrim.

A 30-year-old female arrested at the property has been subsequently released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The man is expected to appear before Lisburn Magistrates Court today.

On Friday, 01 March, detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch stopped and searched two vehicles in the Lisburn Road area. Class B controlled drugs were recovered from both vehicles which were also subsequently seized.

PSNI Name Kilkeel Murder Victim As Bobbie McKee
The PSNI's Major Investigation Team have named the man who was murdered in Kilkeel on Thursday, 21st March as Bobbie McKee. Mr McKee, who was 69-years-old, was pronounced dead after his body was located in a property in the Newcastle Road area last Thursday afternoon following a report of a concern for safety for a couple.

Men Sentenced For Ballymena Drug And Money Laundering Operation
Three men were sentenced for offences linked to a drugs and money laundering operation in the Ballymena area yesterday, 31 January. At Antrim Crown Court, Troy Carley (27), Neil Lowry (30) and Marc Mitchell (32) were sentenced for a number of offences.
