Man Rescued From Van Hanging Off Bridge

A man has been rescued from his van after it was left hanging over a bridge in County Londonderry.

The incident began when the van was involved in a collision with a lorry near Draperstown.

The van was left hanging six metres above water at Altagoan Bridge on the Magherafelt Road.

Specialist rescue teams were called and the man was safely rescued.

North Belfast House Attacked

Police are investigating news of an attack on a house in north Belfast.

It has been reported that a living room window and a glass panel on the door of the Oldpark Road property were smashed at about 19:10 on Wednesday.

Police have asked anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area or who has any further information to get in touch on 0845 600 8000.

Getaway Car Smashes Into Police Vehicle

A car driven by suspected burglars has crashed into a police vehicle in County Down.

The incident followed a burglary on the the Old Newry Road in Banbridge at about 17:45.

Three men were seen leaving the house in a silver Audi A3 car. It crashed into the police vehicle before driving away and hitting another car on the Newry Road.

The men fled the scene and police were unable to find them.

'Nothing Untoward' In Security Alert

A security alert in L'Derry yesterday has ended after police found "nothing untoward".

Whitehouse Road and Groarty Road were closed but have since reopened.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
