Jobs Fairs Return To Belfast And Newry

Newry's Canal Court Hotel and Belfast's Europa Hotel will play host to Jobs Fair and Advice Forums on 13 and 14 November 2013 respectively.

The Newry event will take place in the Canal Court between 10am and 5pm on Wednesday 13 November and the Belfast fair in the Europa between 10am and 6pm on Thursday 14 November. Both have been organised by the Department for Employment and Learning.

Speaking ahead of the events, Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry said: "These Jobs Fair and Advice Forum brings employers, support organisations and jobseekers together under one roof. Clearly these events demonstrate that, despite the current economic climate, employers are still looking to recruit both seasonal and permanent staff and that there are employment opportunities for jobseekers."

A wide range of vacancies will be available and advice and guidance will also be available on a range of training and re-skilling opportunities.

The Minister continued: "A range of support organisations, for example my Department's Careers Service and Employment Service, will also be present to provide individuals with information, advice and guidance on a range of training and employment schemes that can assist individuals progress towards work and better employment prospects, equipping them with the skills to compete in the labour market and meet the needs of employers both now and in the future."

Both cities have played host to Jobs Fairs on previous occasions and organisers are confident that the forthcoming events will be the most successful yet.

Large and small employers from across Northern Ireland will be available to answer questions, discuss training and offer employment opportunities.

Inviting jobseekers to the events, the Minister concluded: "The Job Fairs have something for everyone and I would encourage anyone, whether in work, unemployed or simply assessing education and training options, to explore the services which will be available on each day."

If you're in the market for a new career - or looking for the first step on the ladder - these are the place you need to be. The events are free so just bring yourself - and your CV - along.
