Man Assaulted In W Belfast Break-In
A man has been assaulted during a break-in at a house in west Belfast.
The incident occurred between 11:00 and 11:30 on Tuesday afternoon on Kenard Avenue.
Four men broke into the property and attacked the occupant - a man in his 30s.
A silver Volkswagen Golf car was stolen and found at Navan Green in Andersonstown a short time later.
The man was treated for his injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
A woman who was also in the house during the incident was unharmed.
Ford Closes Bangor Showroom
Ford is closing one of its car showrooms in Bangor County Down, leading to fears of a potential loss of jobs.
Lindsay Ford in Bangor has launched a consultation process with workers. It said it hopes to transfer staff to other areas of the business.
Antrim Limo Driver Fined
A County Antrim limousine operator has been fined £300 for vehicle licensing offences
36-year-old Philip Roddy of Thorburn Park, Newtownabbey was fined a total of £300 at Newtownards Magistrates’ Court.
He was fined £150 for no Public Service Vehicle Licence, £150 for no Road Service Licence and ordered to pay £28 court costs plus an offender levy fee of £15.
Philip Roddy, who trades as A Touch of Class, was convicted following a compliance check carried out by Driver & Vehicle Agency enforcement officers.
Belfast Recycling Box Rolled Out
A new kerbside recycling box scheme has been rolled out across Belfast.
The City Council says set-out rates have almost doubled with 51% of households putting their boxes out every week.
Councillor Steven Corr, chairman of Belfast City Council’s Health and Environmental Services Committee, said : "While there have been a few hiccups with the new scheme settling in, and the changeover to new black bin collection arrangements, overall the scheme has been very positively received and we’re very pleased with the results to date.
"Ideally we’d like to see every house that is part of the new scheme, fully utilising their increased recycling capacity. Recyclables and food waste are collected every week which gives people the opportunity to take part in the scheme."

Phase 1 Of Connswater Community Greenway Begins
Belfast City Council has confirmed work has started at Victorian and Orangefield Parks. The work, which got underway yesterday, is part of the first phase of the Connswater Community Greenway scheme. BSG Civil Engineering Ltd, who are delivering the works, will be on site in both parks, as construction begins on the £35m project.

There has been a broad welcome for news of a substantial environmental improvement scheme for an important area of east Belfast. Yesterday, NI Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie announced news of a £1.4 million environmental improvement scheme to revitalise the Newtownards Road in East Belfast.
