Police Step Up Patrols Following Sunday's Partial Explosion

Vehicle checkpoints have been set up across Belfast in the wake of a partial explosion in Belfast city centre on Sunday night.

A car was left at the entrance to an underground car park at Victoria Square at around 21:30 on Sunday.

At around 11:15, as Army officers prepared to examine the device it partially exploded.

Police have now said that patrols are to "increase significantly", with a "very visible" police presence "in key locations at key times".

A large quantity of suspected illegal drugs were seized during a Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) search operation at a property in west Belfast on Wednesday, 21st February. The search, in the Dermott Hill Road area, was part of an ongoing investigation into suspected criminality linked to the INLA.

Man Wanted In Hungary Arrested In North Belfast
A 66-year-old man man wanted in Hungary for robbery offences has been arrested in North Belfast. Officers from Tennent Street Local Policing Team made the arrest on the evening of Tuesday, 20 February, on behalf of the PSNI's International Policing Unit.
