Fire crews deal with industrial park blaze

Over 40 fire crews were needed to deal with a huge blaze at an industrial park in north Belfast today.

The fire was spotted shortly before lunchtime on the top floor of an old mill building in Edenderry Industrial Estate on the Crumlin Road. It was evacuated shortly afterwards.

Local residents in nearby Cambrai Street were also evacuated while police advised people to close their windows as smoke drifted across the area.

It has not yet been established what caused the blaze.

The building may now have to be demolished however this will depend on a review by safety experts.
