Teenager Charged Over Flag protest

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with disorderly behaviour following a flag protest in east Belfast on Tuesday evening.

He was detained on suspicion of disorderly behaviour at around 20:20.

A number of demonstrators had to be moved off the road in the Castlereagh Street area.

The teenager was charged this morning and will appear before Belfast Youth Court on 30 December.

Men Arrested After Ballymena Cannabis Haul

Two men have been arrested following the discovery of about £135,000 worth of cannabis plants in Ballymena, County Antrim.

The discovery was made at a property in the Deerfin Road area of the town on Monday night.

The men, aged 48 and 18, are due to face a range of class B drugs charges at Ballymena Magistrates' Court today.

Pipe Bomb Found In Garvagh

A partially exploded pipe bomb has been found near a house in Garvagh, County L'Derry.

The Army bomb squad was called to the Glebeview Park area after reports of a suspicious object on Tuesday afternoon.

The item has now been removed for forensic testing.

NI Water Fined For Pollution

NI Water (NIW) has pleaded guilty and been fined £1,200 plus Court Costs of £28 and Offenders Levy of £15 at Craigavon Magistrates' Court.

The company appeared at court yesterday over charges relating to a pollution offence at Milltown Road Waste Water Pumping Station (WWPS), Waringstown, Co. Down.

On 2 January 2013, a Water Quality Inspector inspected the Waringstown Stream upstream of its confluence with the River Lagan at Milltown Road, Waringstown.

A discharge was observed from Milltown Road Waste Water Pumping station. The stream was visibly discoloured, and there was fungal growth on the bed of the River Lagan.

Lawyer considers client's 'overexposure'
The lawyer of a senior north Belfast loyalist has warned that he may report the Chief Constable, Sir Hugh Orde, and an unnamed Sunday newspaper editor to the Attorney General for over exposure of his client. Ihab Shoukri, from Alliance Road, was today remanded on continuing bail charged two counts of being a member of the UDA/UFF.

Man Charged Over Banbridge Murder
A man charged with the murder of another man found dead in Banbridge is to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court today, 13 July. The body of 55-year-old Richard Gerard Scullion was found at a property in the Millmount Court area on Monday, 09 July. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
