3,000 Homes Without Electricity
There are currently 3,000 homes in Northern Ireland without electricity, following severe gale force winds and gusts of 60mph overnight.
Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) emergency crews are responding to over 200 faults on the electricity network across Northern Ireland.
The main areas affected include the eastern and northern counties and exposed rural locations across.
Approximately 15,000 homes have had electricity restored.
"Damage has been caused by flying debris and high winds, including broken electricity lines and damage to poles and other equipment," a statement from NIE said.
"There may also be further faults which have not yet been reported to Northern Ireland Electricity and adverse weather conditions, which could cause additional faults, are due to continue for the next few hours."
Police have said the Rathgael Road in Bangor, County Down, has now been reopened following the road being blocked by a fallen tree.
The NIE Customer Helpline can be reached on 08457 643 643.
